List of basic commands for the game:

(Here is a list of this mod specific commands and aliases. To make a key or mouse-button to trigger a specific command, you have to "bind" it, with the syntax: "bind <key> <command>". For example to bind the "A" key to fire/attack, you would have to type this in the client console: "bind A +attack". You may bind as many keys you want to any of the command/s listed on this web page...)

IMPORTANT: Do not EVER replace the default binds from 1 to 9 and 0 keys, because the mod expects them as standard/default and uses those commands for the menu system!

Use the command "class" followed by a player class name including "custom" like "soldier" or "sniper" (for example) to select a player class to play as. You will respawn as the selected class you've picked after you die. For example typing "class custom" will allow you to recustomize with the menus on respawn time. If you accidentally use a class changing command, or simply you want to abort the change, you can use "class cancel".

Valid class names are:

You can buy upto 3 "skills" or "jobs", which add abilities to your class. Stock classes (non-custom) also get a job, and some of them 2 jobs. To enable or trigger your job ability you may use the "job1", "job2", or "job3" commands, depending on the amount of jobs you have and the specific one you want to use.

Bind keys to "+gren1" "+gren2" and "+gren3" to prime grenades and throw on release of those keys. For example if you want to use the Z key to prime and throw your first slot grenade, type "bind z +gren1" in your client console.

If you bought the pipebombs or are stock demoman, use the "detpipes" command to detonate your pipebombs.

If you buy the "Drops kit" or are a stock scout you can place/drop traps and specials. Use "drops 1" to set a spike trap on the ground, "drops 2" to launch a toaster (kills enemy in water), "drops 3" to set a sticky caltrop on a wall, or "drops 4" to set a laser trip-wire trap, on the surface your're aiming at.

If you have bought a normal detpack, or are a demoman stock class, you can set detpacks with the "det x" command, where x is a number between 5 and 240, representing the seconds of countdown for the detpack. In addition to that if you want to throw the tossable C4 detpack, the command is "det throw".

If you bought the "Spy kit" or are a stock spy, you can go undercover with the "disguise" command. That will set your player color to the enemy one, after a few seconds delay.

If you are able to build anything, the build menu may be accessed using the "build" command, also use "build camera" if you're able to build a security camera (by either buying it in a custom class or being an engineer). The rest of engineer devices may be built with the normal build menu.

If you bought the healing potion you may drink it with the "potion" command.

You may force-reload your rocket launcher with the "reload" command.

If you bough "Air force" or are stock sniper, call for an airstrike while aiming with the sniper rifle and using the "airstrike" command.

You might bind a key to "+zoom" to be able to temporarily zoom in, and out on release of such key. Note that this alias may feel laggy if your ping is high, as Quake2 tracks the "fov" setting server side (unlike Quake1).

Voting system commands for clients:

You start a vote by using the "vote" command, in some cases just 1 subcommand is enough to start the voting, but most of the time the command needs more arguments.

Valid vote kinds (so 1st subcommand just after the "vote" command) are:

Miscellaneous commands for clients:

You can get information about the players currently in-game with the "playerlist" command. Use this command to get UserID of some player, which will appear on the first column for every player in the list.

You can get information about the players currently in-game with the "players" command. Different info than with the previous command, like the ping fairness amount for the players are displayed.

Use the "hiscores" command to see current high-scores all-time records since the server started to keep them. (so June 2026)

Use "showscore" with no argument and it will display your current stats, if you want to check any other player stats just provide their UserID as argument.

You may switch of team by using "team blue" or "team red". And if you use "team show" it will list your current teammates and the class they are playing as.

Use "mapcycle" to display and validate each map on current cycle list.

With "score" you may pick between server default, typical CTF or classic deathmatch scoreboard, by supplying an argument of 0, 1 or 2 respectively.

Type "maplist" in the console to get all current maps in the mod maps folder. This command accepts a subcommand, if used only the maps containing the substring matching the argument will be listed, allowing users to map-search easily.

Use "timeleft" to display the time that will last the current map, and also displays the next map, being it on map-cycle or voted up.

Although disabled in original CTF source code, in this mod you may drop the enemy flag if you carry it up, with the "drop flag" command.

Gameplay tips and tricks:

You might get 3 drops of every kind instead of 2, by buying the "ammo backpack". Similarly you may get 2 healing potions instead of one by buying the "ammo bandolier".

If you buy both ammo bandolier and ammo backpack, your capacity for detpacks will be 2, so if you buy both regular detpack and the C4 tossable one you will get 4 total detpacks!

Pay attention when being a warlock to your meat and heads quantities, appart from hearts. Meat determines the maximum HP of your summons and heads determine how much they regenerate. You may get hearts from corpses as long as they are enemy corpses and their heart wasn't stripped on their death.
